Personal Assistant to
Music Artist
Job Description:
We are looking for a communicative Personal Assistant for artist/musician, Ashley Keiko, to provide secretarial, administrative, and personal support in a well-organized and timely manner. Assistant will travel while on duty, predominantly in NYC/tri-state area, as well as within the US and internationally for the artist's performances and appearances. (Must have a valid passport or willing to obtain one.)
The assistant will work alongside the artist and her talent manager on a variety of tasks related to the artist’s working life and communication across various platforms. (Must be tech-savvy and have a good eye for visuals.) At this time, this position provides about 10 - 20 hours per week but may grow to a full-time position if the work permits.
Responsibilities:

Act as the secondary point of contact between the artist and internal/external clients

Assist artist at performances by: communicating with event organizers, carrying belongings, retrieving meals, handing out business cards, etc.

Capture footage for website and social media content

Make travel arrangements
-
Screen and direct social media DMs, emails, texts, and phone calls, and distribute correspondence

Manage website and social media including Instagram, Facebook, Youtube, Twitter, etc. by:

Publishing website edits/updates
-
Assisting with daily posts, creating thumbnails, etc.

Email outreach, follow up, and engaging with consumers, followers, influencers, press, and brands

Implement campaigns
-
Track and report social media analytics and present monthly findings
-
Manage and schedule meetings and appointments
-
Send invoices and collect payment
-
Maintain paperwork
-
Create advertising materials and monthly newsletters

Drive to performance locations when necessary

Perform other duties as assigned

About the Artist/Musician:
Ashley Keiko is an up-and-coming saxophonist, singer/songwriter, and entrepreneur who has studied classical piano, alto saxophone and has taught music for many years. Ashley has performed at major venues such as the Apollo Theater in New York City and Wollongong University in Australia. She has also performed for Steve Harvey, on the nationally syndicated TV game show, Family Feud.
Ashley Keiko is also a social media content creator and influencer with currently 5k subscribers on YouTube, 38k followers on Instagram, and 175k followers on TikTok. With reposts from celebrities and companies such as Cardi B, WBLS Radio Station, B.E.T., DL Hughley, and more.
Her debut album, “Pursuit of Harmony”, was released in November of 2020, which features Ashley’s originals and covers of classics, while displaying her smooth jazz saxophone tones across genres of hip hop, R&B, pop, and gospel. The album also features Ashley’s newly debuted soothing and serene vocals. Ashley received her Master's in Music and Music Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. Prior to her graduate coursework and study abroad, she received her Bachelor’s degree in Jazz Performance at School of Jazz and Contemporary Music at The New School.
Alongside her roles as performer, music educator, and music advocate, Ashley expanded her music academy, Keiko Studios, in January 2018 with the grand opening of a storefront location that caters to adults and children who aim to explore the importance of music and musical expression. Ashley’s academy supports communities where opportunities for music education are limited. Since the opening, the academy has been featured on Now This News and has been recognized by both of Ashley’s alma maters.
